More than twenty-five new pieces from Joyce Lieberman! Her paintings can only be described as "joyful." Their exhuberance of life is conveyed through her vibrant colors, strong patterns, and disproportionate elements. Her flowers and vases look as if they're dancing to some fabulous music playing within the painting. Not surprisingly, Joyce calls these her "UNStill Life" series. A Good Folly is a stunning example of her contemporary floral acrylics. The sense of movement she has captured within the background draws your eye toward the blue vase in the center of the painting, which then allows you to absorb the rest of the scene. Joyce's abstracted backgrounds leave her paintings open to interpretation.
Golden TulipsAcrylic on Canvas
Joyce is just as expressive on canvas as she is on paper. She has a very distinct artistic voice, whether she is painting abstracts or representational images. Golden Tulips has a completely different feel from A Good Folly, but is just as joyful. Her tulips seem to glow and light up the rest of the canvas. Characteristic of Joyce, the fruits and bowl and vase have a movement all their own, again as if swaying to some inner music created by paintbrush.
