A Word from Sam
I have been taking art lessons on Saturday afternoon's for the past eight years. I have been working with pastels, sketching, watercolors, and most recently, oil painting. I have completed seven oil paintings and several watercolors, which I will be selling as part of my Bat Mitzvah project. The proceeds will be donated to my family's favorite charity, the Orange County Ronald McDonald House.
The idea of the Ronald McDonald House is simple: it provides a "home-away-from-home" for families of seriously ill children who are at nearby hospitals. Besides the comfort of the Ronald McDonald House, they are building a "Family Room" at CHOC in Orange. They already have one at CHOC in Mission Viejo. A Family Room consists of four guest rooms, a kitchenette, living room, a family computer resource library. In 2006, the Ronald McDonald House helped 737 families, or a total of 1905 people. In addition, the house paid for 171 hotel rooms for families who did not have a place to stay because the House was full.
Thank you for supporting my Bat Mitzvah Project.
