Summer is winding down, but we certainly aren't! Our last concert in the Enderle Center Summer Concert series is upon us, featuring Celtic tunes with a Bluegrass twist by Sligo Rags, two-time winner of the OC Folk Band Music Award. Get your Irish up and dance a jig or two, it's bound to be a rip-roaring good time! Chemers is extra-jazzed to have the musicians set up right outside our front doors! There will be Italian Ice available with 20% of sales going to Chapman University College of Educational Studies K-12 Literacy Programs, the beneficiaries of this year's Children's Book Illustration Art Show & Book Signing. Sorry, we won't be pulling pints o' Black Gold, aka Vitamin G....
Dori Dewberry demonstrates her pastels
For the past two shows we've invited some of our local artists to come and demonstrate their talents. We've had pastels done by Mary Aslin and Dori Dewberry, oil paintings by Anthony Salvo, Dana Cooper, Jim Wodark and Kay Flierl, watercolors by Julie Hill and Pete Roberts, acrylics and mixed media by Ian Paul and textile weaving by Susan Horton. We've had such a blast, and the artists have too. How could we resist these wonderful and talented people begging to demonstrate once again? Just take a look at some of the great shots our photographer friend Guillermo LeFranc captured and shared with us!
