Chemers Gallery, your "one-stop-shop" for unique gift items, artwork and framing, has added yet another fantastic vendor to our mix. ICON has arrived just in time for the holidays! One of our clients told us about the luxurious handbags and leather goods, and Karen jumped at the chance to bring them into the gallery. Museum-quality reproductions of some of the world's most notable art works characterize ICON's incredibly soft, fine leather products, making them ideal for the gallery setting.
Launched in 2001 by an Hollywood filmmaker and art collector, ICON introduced the nation to Andy Warhol's Campbell Soup Can imprinted on a leather, comfort sneaker. This bold use of color, printed on soft, supple leather was unique in a world of brown and black leather shoes.
By licensing the use of images from up-and-coming artists, as well as masters like Monet, Van Gogh and Klimt, ICON created a phenomenon. It quickly caught the attention of celebrities, media, and before long these wild, new conversation starters were selling out.
Soon the loyal ICON customer was collecting her favorite artists as well as wearing "some of the most comfortable shoes ever." Now the art lover can take her art with her to enjoy all day long.
