Abstract Views of Tustin, the City of Trees

The city of Tustin is filled with unique homes, gorgeous gardens and parks, a lovely downtown, and tremendous civic pride. One of the best things about our City of Trees exhibition with the Tustin Art League is all the varied views and interpretations of our familiar town. Take a look at these abstracted renderings of our fair city; we're sure you've never seen Tustin in this light before!

Morning Sycamores, Sycamore Grove; Mixed Media on Board by Max Rodriguez

Max Rodriguez's historical diptych calls to Tustin's roots, when the city was called Sycamore Grove.

Nature's Garden, Peter's Canyon; Watercolor on Yupo by Marsha Lindsey

Marsha Lindsey's softly striking watercolor of Peter's Canyon is gorgeous in person, glowing with an inner light.

A Day in Tustin, Main Street, Old Town; Encaustic by Beverly Weber-Fow

An encaustic collage by Beverly Weber-Fow mixes bold colors with recognizable street signs to blend the organic with the man-made.

Tustin Abstract I, El Camino Real and Main Street; Photograph by Emet Martinez

Local photographer, Emet Martinez, created this striking vertical landscape by playfully distorting tree trunks and street lights.

Right: Palms II 117 Degrees 49' 31" W, Latitude of Tustin; Monotype by Jonde Northcutt

Jonde Northcutt used GPS technology to choose her trees and create her own vision of Tustin.

DON'T FORGET!
The City of Trees exhibition will be on display through

It's time for the second annual juried exhibition in association with the Tustin Art League, a division of TACFA! This year's theme is "City of Trees," fitting because the city of Tustin has been named the Tree City USA for the last 13 years. Each work of art has a tree or part of a tree from the Tustin area, and have been created with love by local professional and amateur artists. On display for your viewing pleasure will be an eclectic mixture of watercolor, pastel, photography, mixed media, oils and acrylic on canvas. All art is for sale, and can be previewed on our website.
